Everett Newell has been involved in the energetic arts since 1978. His practice of these arts began with Hapkido, a Korean martial art that led him to one of his most revered teachers Grand Master Bong Soo Han with whom he studied and had a close relationship with for more than 20 years. Everett taught at the International Hapkido Federation® Headquarters in Santa Monica, CA for over 10 Years.
His exploration of Yoga began in 1992 and has been a journey through many traditions such as Tantra, Hatha, Anusara Yoga®, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Taoism and more. Everett's journey has also been influenced by the mastery of many teachers such as Swami Rama, Panditji Rajmani Tigunait, Gary Krafstow, Yogi Bhajan, Dr. Glen Morris, Rod Stryker and the many gifted masters of the Bihar School of Yoga.
A life long fascination by the relationship of fear and the obstacles to success has led to an intensive study through a variety of modalities, including martial arts, yoga and success seminars with Fortune 500 CEO's, former US presidents, and sports and entertainment personalities. His realization: "Many philosophical systems teach us how to embody the traits of success, where as spiritual systems focus primarily on the achievement of fulfillment. Success does not necessarily lead to fulfillment, but in order to experience fulfillment in this worldly plane we must experience success......We are not just here to transcend suffering nor to enjoy the fruits of our labor; we must also fearlessly add to the tapestry of humanity."
Everett was cofounder of Divine Motion Yoga® Los Angeles (2001 − 2009) which was three times voted "Best Los Angeles Yoga Studio" via an audience poll on City Search.com. A second location was opened in Mt. Shasta, Ca in 2006. In 2010 he moved to New York City's Upper Westside where he taught at the one of the City's premier yoga studios, Pure Yoga® and NYLovesYoga. Everett is currently devoting his efforts to the debut of his own synthesis of yoga known as Zuna Yoga®, which he shares through workshops, trainings and retreats internationally.

Originally from the UK, Katherine Girling was awarded the prestigious Chancellor's Scholarship and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Environmental Science and French and a BSc in Chemical Engineering. She was awarded academic scholarships for study abroad in France and China. She completed a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Northwestern Switzerland, with graduate work in Hanoi, Vietnam funded by UNIDO. Katherine has over 20 years experience in engineering, sales, marketing and training. She has traveled extensively, is fluent in French, German and English, has studied Chinese and Spanish, and spent nearly 25 years living abroad.
She has been in love with movement her whole life, from team sports like soccer and softball to martial arts to outdoor sports including snowboarding, mountain biking and running. Her first yoga class − now 20 years ago − was in a gym, and was a purely physical introduction to the practice. While working as a radio DJ in Switzerland, she interviewed visiting teacher Doug Keller, who inspired her to pursue yoga on a deeper level. After a solo yoga expedition to Costa Rica, she was hooked, and wanted to learn more about this empowering practice.
She completed her first 200 hour Teacher Training with Alanna Kaivalya and Kay Kay Clivio at Pure Yoga® NYC in 2010. The same year, she was introduced to the Tantric Hatha style of Zuna Yoga® and was inspired by its depth. She left her job as a sales executive in the corporate world in 2013 to join the Zuna Yoga® team. She now travels internationally, facilitating Zuna Yoga® events and connecting with beautiful souls all over the world.
Teachers and scholars who have inspired her include Doug Keller, Rodney Yee, Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati, Georg Feuerstein, David Frawley, Jill Miller, Gil Hedley and Sensei Tim Hoover. Katherine's classes encourage the development of calm, centered strength, and always end with meditation.
"From this hour I ordain myself loos'd of limits and imaginary lines,
Going where I list, my own master total and absolute,
Listening to others, considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me.
I inhale great draughts of space,
The east and the west are mine, and the north and the south are mine.
I am larger, better than I thought,
I did not know I held so much goodness. " Walt Whitman, Song of the Open Road

Anna is originally from the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where she attended Colorado State University, studied journalism and played basketball. After a few years of living in California, where her interest in surfing and golf began, she spent 9 years working as a commercial real estate broker in Manhattan. Living in NYC sparked her love of art, attending openings and enjoying painting as a means of relaxation and expression.
Health and wellness have always been a priority to Anna. Her love of yoga began over 15 years ago, when she began to explore her spirituality and attended her first yoga class. Since then, she has studied many different styles of yoga under the instruction of various teachers, including David Silverberg, an ISHTA certified teacher in New York.
Her ongoing passion with the practice of yoga combined with the desire to travel moved her to seek out a teacher training program abroad. She selected the Zuna Yoga® teacher training, as it encompassed everything she loved about the practice. Her experience and enthusiasm for the program led her to become a member of the Zuna Yoga® team in 2014, where she hopes to inspire people to live a life full of freedom and courage, one they are proud of.
"Do you know what you are? You are a manuscript oƒ a divine letter. You are a mirror reflecting a noble face. This universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you are already that. " — Rumi
Carina was born with a bright creative streak. She grew up in Vienna and while she was a teenager she traveled the world as a model on various assignments. She saved enough money to finance her first entrepreneurial venture, a bar back in Vienna. It didn't take long for her to recognize toxins for what they are and to gain an understanding of the deep importance of health and respect for our bodies. Wanting to share this understanding with others, she studied sports & fitness in college and became a nutrition coach in 2012.
In 2013, Carina's life changed when she made her way to India and completed her first yoga teacher training at Trimurti Yoga. In 2015, she enrolled in Zuna Yoga's 300-hour yoga teacher training in Bali and fell in love with the philosophy and techniques. Since then, Carina has worked as a yoga teacher in Vienna at the country's best known studio, Yogakula, as well as in India, the Philippines and Fiji, teaching ashtanga, vinyasa flow, yin and traditional hatha yoga. She is the author of two German language books on yoga, Yoga for Healing and Yoga for a Strong Mind.
Carina also launched a yoga charity, Yoga for Healing, which brings yoga classes to young adults with cancer in a variety of settings, including hospitals, yoga studios and private homes. She is also a certified surf instructor and enjoys painting.
Carina is incredibly excited to join the magical Zuna Yoga team where she can help more people find the lightness, beauty and creative force that yoga has brought to her life.

First brought onto this Earth in China, Ting and her family migrated to Philadelphia Pennsylvania in her early years. As a teen, she was first introduced to yoga when her mother would invite her to join in practicing VHS tapes of Baron Baptiste and Bryan Kest. Excelling in fine arts in school quickly led to a degree in Fashion and Textile Design. After a number of years in New York City working as a designer, she found that she longed for something with deeper meaning, something she was unsure what it was yet.
This led her to travel across the country from North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, to Portland Oregon. Along the way Ting's practice in yoga flourished physically. With a bold desire for travel she found Zuna Yoga® to get her teacher certification. It was then when the doors opened to the deeper meaning of yoga. It was as if she uncovered a hidden treasure- she finally found what she was longing for. Never having practiced meditation before, the Zuna Yoga® method resonated with her not just physically, but spiritually and mentally as well.
After receiving her certificate, Ting continues to hold on to the Zuna Yoga® tradition by teaching her students at a local yoga studio in Portland. Ting is honored to be invited to accompany Zuna in the future teacher trainings and in helping people awaken their soul purpose.

Fran grew up in Germany, where she enjoyed a classical education, studying piano, flute and ballet. After her "Abitur" (German high school degree), she traveled to Italy to work and be immersed in the language and culture. Returning to Germany to pursue a teaching degree, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kassel and started teaching in primary school in 2008.
Indonesia was calling Fran in 2013. She became captivated by the magic of yoga after taking a Zuna Yoga class with Katherine on Gili Air. She returned home and began to casually teach yoga and meditation to her school kids, realizing the great impact a holistic Yoga practice can have on the individual body and spirit.
Fran left her job and her home country in 2015 with the goal of really finding what she loved, traveling and getting deeper into the practice of yoga. It was clear for her that she wanted to start her abroad experience with a 200 hour teacher training in Bali. Becoming a Zuna Yoga® teacher was a life changing experience. After traveling extensively through Australasia, Fran finally decided to move to Bali and to enjoy a simple lifestyle, dedicated to a holistic Yoga practice and connecting with like minded people.
Fran now lives in Ubud where she teaches Yoga, writes for online blogs, and assists Zuna Yoga events. She is thrilled to be part of a program that encourages students to discover their true self, to recognize the voice of their intuition, to live without the clutter of doubts or fears.
